Florence

This was my first view of the Duomo complex in Florence, and I was floored.

Looking up at the belltower

See what I mean about being floored? Still looking up at the belltower.

The interior dome of the baptistry of the Duomo; quite a magnificent Last Judgement scene.

Brunilleschi's construction tools and scaffolding were on display in the Duomo Museum. When he designed the dome for the cathedral, it was the first of its kind, so he had to design the method of construction as well.

Looking at the shops hanging over the water like this makes walking across the Ponte Vecchio that much cooler, since each of those shops is filled with thousands of dollars of gold and gems.

Me and Florence, taken from Piazzale Michelangelo

This angel guarded a grave in the cemetery on the other side of this wall.

Spiky cauliflower in the San Lorenzo market

The smallest car I saw in Italy. The owners walked up just as Jason and I stopped taking pictures.

This interestingly shaped bird's nest was on display in La Specola, a museum of animal and anatomical wonders.

Also at La Specola. Don't worry, it's wax.

Gulo gulo or for everyone who's not a dorky as I am, a wolverine.
