Laura Levine’s sculpture has become available only recently, having been exhibited in the Swords into Plowshares Gallery and the A.C.T. Gallery in Detroit, Michigan.
After two years at Indiana University, she received a merit scholarship to the School of the Art Institute or Chicago, where she trained in their nationally acclaimed advanced painting program, and earned her B.F.A. in 1997.
Although she loved the freedom and colorfulness of painting, Laura discovered that she did not want to limit herself to two-dimensional media. However, she disliked the lack of color available in most sculpture media. As a result, Laura now makes dolls of cloth, ceramic and acrylic paint. |
