    From Marvel Comics
By Garth Ennis, Steve Dillion, and Jimmy Palmiotti

The Buzz: This year’s biggest and baddest (and most violent and popular. I could go on and on here) continues into it's second arc. The series is over at the start of the New Year, an ongoing series is expected to appear just after that. Plus it has the funniest letter column in the biz. mmmm pie! (inside joke)

The Story: Big Pun is still flat on his back talking to Joan, meanwhile Ma’s goons are about to try and get Spacker Dave to tell about Punisher. They start to pull out his rings when Punisher goes over and stabs on guy. Then shoots the blade (sweet) at the other who is shock that it’s the Punisher (heh). The Soap hits on Molly and then she reveals she’s a lesbian (double heh)! Then a kind old doctor heals up Punisher’s wounds. Punisher reveals his name to Joan. Then in the final scene 6 guys called Bravo Force are killed by a man we don’t see (The Russian) in a hilarious scene (it’s a classic).

The Good: Let me see...all of it!?! I honestly can’t really think of anything that was bad. Ennis’s plot as always is great, and his dialogue is whip sharp and hilarious. The scene with The Russian is great, and when we learned what happened to Dave was powerful. Man! Steve Dillion’s art is so damn good, I feel upset that I never saw it before Punisher. Plus the letters column is so funny!

The Bad: Nothing, Nada, Kaput, Bubkiss, Ditto, Zero, non!

The End: Simply amazing! One of the best issues of this series to date. Thank you Marvel Knights!

The Buzz: The most solid book of 2000 rolls into the final battle and everybody’s excited. With an ongoing announcement recently, this book is a great setup and a must read.

The Story: With all of Frank's guns packed The Russian breaks in and knocks around Frank. Meanwhile Ma Gnucci deals with NYC’s Mayor and Police Chief and makes one of her punk lackeys puke (lick my scabs, heh). Punisher fights with The Russian and gets his butt kicked big time (he kicks The Russian in the nuts and The Russian doesn’t feel anything!), and the Russian hits Punisher with a toilet. Soap cries about how is life sucks to his partner and she shuts him up good (funny part). Elite kills a drug dealer and is recruited by Mr. Payback to join a vigilante group and they go off to recruit The Holy, and then The Punisher. Back to Punisher, Frank discovers Russian's only weakness, fire, then The Holy joins the group and they vow to find The Punisher and make him join. Finally Frank tries to shoot The Russian but he (Russian) breaks the gun in half and prepares for round 2!

The Good: Everything! Well not everything but pretty damn close. Again Ennis’s plot and dialogue are excellent and fresh at the same time. He just is the only person to write The Punisher right now! Dillion’s art is nothing short of extremely solid. His stuff just continues to shine. His Frank is great and The Russian’s a beast! To focus in on the scenes, The Detective car scene is funny and The Russian/Punisher battles are good stuff.

The Bad: Remember how I said how not everything is great? Well it’s not very much but with so many characters and switching between scenes so quick it gets weird. If you’re not accustomed to the series it’ll throw you for a loop. It’s good for experienced veterans but if you are not experienced you’ll be scared out of your pants.

Rating: 8.5 out of 10. A great issue in a great series but not anything to go down in the record books. I loved the book and I cannot wait to read the final issue and the final showdown!
