Leanne's Note: I once met a Spiderman impersonator at a comic store. Even though I knew it was not the real webcrawler I still freaked out!

The Information: Read ‘em and Weep! Paul Jenkins, Mark Buckingham, Dan Green, and Rodney Ramos

The Buzz: The best-revitalized book of the year continues on in the third issue. Paul Jenkins has become Marvel’s big revitalizing tool. After PP: Spider-Man, The Hulk he’s also brought back The Sentry from beyond the grave.

The Story: A new villain, Typeface, is planning retribution. Next Peter is alone and missing Mary Jane, he switches his wedding ring to his left hand (remember this). Typeface beats the crap out of three thugs with his giant letter weapons, at the same time Peter is having crazy dreams about various things. Pete wakes with the phone ringing and it’s the owner of an art gallery. Pete’s got a scheduled showing of his photos the next day and Pete still hasn’t got any photos yet. Also Pete’s roommate Randy has been having the same dreams as Peter, and JJ Jameson is complaining to Randy’s father (Robbie) about the lack of good photos and asks where Peter’s been. Randy, Peter and two girls are out at a bar and Peter strikes up a conversation with another man who has a ring of his left hand. Randy later reveals that men who wear wedding rings on their left hand are gay. Bha-hahahahahaha! Peter has to leave because Typeface is going nuts whipping letter bombs all around. Spidey confronts him but is ultimately defeated. Typeface does reveal that he’ll next strike at 7 o’clock tomorrow, the same time as Peter’s art showing. Later Peter is confronted by aliens.

The Good: Damn this is some good characterization! Jenkins is one of the best writers for dialogue and characterization, his characters just seem real. The book is overall great and the art is pretty solid, it’s not extravagant, but it’s still damn good! The book is like the Spidey comics of old, more about Peter than Spidey, or a healthy mix. The book is damn good and hilarious as well. The ring on the left hand was great. Man the look on Peter’s face!

The Bad: Buckingham’s art is great but it's a bit inconsistent. It looks different at times.

Rating: I have to give this one a 9 out of 10, Spiderman is finally good again!
