Marvel Comics
Powerless Brian Michael Bendis, Mark Bagley and Art Thibert

The Information: There are two covers to this sucker. The first has a normal background and the second has a white background which is skyrocketing in price (I happened to buy that one! He! He!).

The Buzz: One of the most anticipated (if not the most anticipated) books of the year! The book is set to restore Spiderman to his roots while at the same time modernizing him. The book is based around Amazing Fantasy 15 but it is modernized. Bendis is set to hit the big time with this book.

The Story: Oh come on, you know it! Peter Parker is a school outcast and a complete nerd. He lives with his Aunt and Uncle and has the hots for Mary Jane. He goes to Osborne Industries and is bitten by a drug-enhanced spider. Chaos ensues.

The Good: Considering that this is basically just using an old story and updating it, it's damn good. This story is the best update of an old story I've ever seen. I loved this book, it may be one of the best stories I have ever read. Bendis's dialouge is sharp and Bagley has never seen better. The color and inking are wonderful and overall it's a complete package. On another note, the production quality is great. Marvel went all out and it's a reasonable price too. Oh and cool cover, CGI rules.

The Bad: Besides the fact that the spider is now drug enhanced instead of Radioactive (that's just dumb) nothing is bad. The book is perfect...well almost.

Rating: I loved the book and the quality is amazing. You just got to love it. 10 out of 10. I don't like perfects, and besides Punisher, this is the only 10 I've given out this year.
