Marvel Comics
By Paul Jenkins, Mark Buckingham and Dan Green

Cover: A real cute picture of Spider-Man and The Human Torch "posing" for the cover. It looks good but it also looks too forced. Like a modeling magazine more like a comic book cover.

Story: - Peter and his new roommate, Robertson (last name) about what’s going on in Pete’s life including MJ and his lack of food
- Spidey saves an elderly couple from beatnik (literally) robbers, even though he saves them they reject him, ah poor Spidey
- Peter goes to visit Aunt May (he really just wants to eat dinner), they comfort each other and make us (the reader) laugh
- Spider-Man stops some bank robbers that just happen to be bank robbers. He stops them and wackiness ensues, this is one of the funniest scenes I’ve ever read
- Spider-Man goes and talks with The Torch about life, and gets a big piece of advice
- Pete tries out a new job, one that makes perfect sense, but you’d never expect

The Writing: Paul Jenkins has restored Spider-Man to readable again, this book was failing a few months ago but is now a one of the best books Marvel prints. Jenkins has restored Peter back to his hilarious self and is focusing more on him then Spider-Man, and it makes for one fun read.

The Art: Mark Buckingham’s work is a nice, clean, and very fresh feel on Spidey. After seeing John Brynes’ art month after month, this is a big sigh of relief (Romita JR’s art is still great, and I don’t mind seeing it every month).

Overall: One of the best reads this month, a few days ago I was thinking about cutting back on my comic books, to just a few a month, but with this one, I have to add another one to my list.

Rating: 9 out of 10, an awesome read, that all will enjoy.

Similar Tastes: Sentry, Withcblade, Inhumans, and the other Spider-Man books.
