Fusion Comix Related Questions:
Question: Describe what you do and what you have done for Fusion Comix.
Jesse: Alot. Basically I'm a staff writer (I guess). I just write a whole bunch of stuff and do alot of talking! I've written a bunch of reviews, (many of which you haven't seen yet) including, Deadpool, Iron Man, JLA, Marvel Knights, SpiderMan, and X-Men. I've also written some other stuff like The Dr. Laura Special. I also run The Fusion Community which includes The Newsboard and Updates Board. I used to work alot on the Club but that's been scaled back. I also do the Newsletter but that's currently on Hiatus. I just do alot of work whenever I get the time (which isn't often)!

Question: Why did you decide to join up with Fusion Comix and delete your comic book site?
Jesse: Well basically I gave up R&R (Rants And Reviews) just because I didn't have the time or will to do it when I wanted and give it my all. I loved doing it, not just so much, I just enjoy the writing way more than the HTML. It just became too much to handle. I still wanted to work at a comic book site. I'd been talking to Leanne about it for awhile before that and we just basically worked it out so that I would work at Fusion, simple as that.

Question: What is your favorite part of Fusion Comix?
Jesse: Ah this is tough. I like talking and ranting in the various boards. I like the satisfaction of seeing my writing up. Probably my favorite work of my own is The Dr. Laura Special. It just allowed me to get really creative and I just think it worked out really well. There's just so much to like here at Fusion Comix.

Question: What is your least favorite part of Fusion Comix?
Jesse: Well, probably Leanne, no I'm just kidding. Probably not being able to work on it as much as I would like. I just get more busy and busy every week! Also knowing that Leanne has my work ready to go and it's not up. I just want to be able to see it up there! I understand that Leanne's busy so it's allright!

Question: Where does your nickname "Augie 680" come from?
Jesse: Well Augie is for my dog's name. He's named after the old school cartoon dog Augie Dogie! The 680 has no real meaning though. When I got a hotmail account I had to add a number, so I added that one!

Question: When did you get your first computer?
Jesse: Two years this June. I haven't had a computer for that long. I got this one almost 2 years ago and I've still got it! I’ve caught on pretty quick I think!

Question: What programs do you know how to use?
Jesse: Too many. Here's a short list: Word, PowerPoint, Pascal, Netscape Composer and all the other Netscape stuff. Almost every Microsoft one as well and tons of Web Chats - ICQ, MSN, AOL, and much more! I use a lot on a daily basis at home and at school! That's just some of them!

Question: What was your first comic book?
Jesse: Well probably an Archie Digest years ago but the one that I really got into and started me on a trail to comic geekdom has to be an Uncanny X-Men. My Uncle has like every issue and I used to go to his house and read them, then borrow them and never give them back! An Ex-Friend of mine used to read them and he lent me some so my Uncle and my Ex-Friend really got me hooked on comics.

Question: What's your most valuable comic book?
Jesse: Right now it's probably Ultimate SpiderMan 1(b)! That sucker's going for like 90 bucks! But that's just money wise. The comics that I treasure the most are definately my Deadpools! I just keep them seperate from the rest and cherish them the most. I'm on a quest to get all the issues. I only need about 10 more! Any comic store I go to the first thing I look for are Deadpools I don’t have!

Question: What's your favorite comic book character?
Jesse: Leanne do you even need to ask? We all know it's The Merc with a Mouth, Deadpool! There's just something that I really like about The Pool Man. He just breaks down all the typical Superhero barriers. The Joe Kelly issues of his book are masterpieces. Also the humor. There isn’t a funnier book on the stands today for my money!

Question: What's your favorite comic book creator?
Jesse: Writer - This fluctuates a bit. Usually it's what I read last. I really like Scott Lobdell's and Joe Kelly’s stuff. But I just read Batman: The Dark Knight Returns TBP, and it's amazing, so I'll say Frank Miller right now. I'm not a huge fan of his art, but his writing is wicked! Artist- Ian Churchill: The Coven and his Cable issues were simply amazing. And starting this April he's on Uncanny X-Men, so I'll have to start buying that again.

Question: How did you "meet" Leanne and what's you're relationship with her?
Jesse: As I remember, Leanne applied for the award at my original Comic Book Site, Comics & Stuff, and we started sending E-Mails back and forth. That eventually led to my job at Fusion Comix. We used to talk about once a week but were both so busy know it's like once a month! And despite what the British Tabloids say, me and Leanne are just friends! lol! Were friends and in a sense she's my boss, I send in all my stuff to her don't I? Just friends really!

Question: How did you learn to create web sites?
Jesse: When I got my computer my best friend came over and showed me the ropes of it. We eventually got to Netscape Composer and he showed me how to build sites, how to upload them and how to use them! He showed me how to get there, and know I’m better at it than he his! I’m a very quick learner!
