Europe feels your pain September 14th, 2001
In name of Belgium, I would like to express my deepest symphaties with the American people. My fiancée being American, this tragedy strikes me deeper than most other of my fellow countrymen. But make no mistake, the whole country feels with you as does the rest of Europe. As far as I'm concerned, we will support America in any action they take and offer them any aid they need. After all, we haven't forgotten what you people did for us in the past. I know Americans. They are a proud and strong people and this cowardly attack will not bring them down. I'm confident about that.

The most frustrating part about this whole tragedy is that the enemy doesn't even have a face. We all know what kind of people are behind this, but we don't have any real enemy to strike back. It enrages me that we can't even extract vengeance for all those innocents who died. That some people think that this is a reason to party is even more disgusting. Those people are as bad as the ones who did the attacks and they don't deserve any better than the real culprits if you ask me. This has shown us one thing though. Islam fundamentalism and terrorism will be the plague of this new millennium. Only united can we stand against it. I hope this whole tragedy will bring America, Europe and the rest of the civilised world together to stand united against treats of this nature.

Take care,

Thoughts September 12th, 2001
I just tried writing a long thing here but got booted in the midst of writing so I'm going to go short and sweet here.

Things I'm happy about
1. Thanks to all the world for your support.
2. Thanks to Canada for stopping a plane that may have been headed to the U.S. oil reserves in Alaska
3. I am proud of my country for how fast we reacted
4. Those people that forced the plane down in Pennsylvania are HEROES.

Things I'm mad about
1. People who don't have the balls to own up to what they did.
2. They hit civilian targets.
3. People on the other planes didn't seem to make an attempt to stop them from crashing the planes even though they were just using knives
4. People across the world cheering death... even here in the U.S.

Other thing I got in my craw right now are
1. The terrorists impressed me
2. Cuba is supportung the U.S. (you know someone fucked up if Cuba is standing with us)

I spent most of the day running outsode of my work and looking in the air for fighter jets. I saw them in the afternoon, and that's what I needed. I knew as soon as I saw them that it was over for now.... I just needed the reassurance like a Jerry Bruckheimer movie (Con-Air, The Rock, Armaggedon...)

I'm sure the entire country thanks you for your support.

American Canadian Solidarity September 11th, 2001
Today is a devistating mark on world history. Terrorist attacks on America have left the world in shock and horror. These attacks were on not only America but on everyone who believes in freedom. In the face of this tragedy it seems meaningless to me to continue my regular web design duties, especially on my comic book site. The real heroes are the people who live and die to protect the free world. My sites will be open as usual during this miserable time as we hope to move on. I contemplated closing my sites to honor those lives affected by these events. Since my web sites and message boards are my main means of communication with my American cyber-friends I have decided to keep them open so we can support each other. For the very first time on my site the American flag stands proudly next to the Canadian one. I hope this gives some small comfort to those in the States. If you are concerned about Canadians visiting the States you may call this number to make inquiries about their safety: 1-800-387-3124

Canada is standing by to give whatever humanitarian services we can to our neighbors. Our television channels are running coverage on these terrorism events from both the American and Canadian perspectives. People have been donating blood here as well but there are varying reports as to whether or not our blood will be used or is needed. The American embassy is covered in flowers and memorials. Services, airports, buildings etc have been closed and security has been increased. When our American neighbors hurt we hurt as well.

My condolences are with the American people. I lost more faith in humanity today. My thoughts are with you as we reach out to our neighbors. It is hard for us all not to want vengence on those responsible for the terrorists attacks. Many innocent lives were lost and hopefully there will be no more.

My other memorial page is on my personal site: [The Richer Family Tree]
