The Cover: Pretty cool. I love Leinils' art on X-men, and this cover is pretty nice to look at. Lots of action, and cool explosions. But one question, just who is that guy in the middle? Colossus? Nightcrawler?
The Story: The X-men versus the Neo round three. Wolvie and Dani Moonstar are looking around in a secret lair and find a tape of the Neo destroying Sinister and Sabretooth. Cut to some weird building, Cecelia Reyes vs. some huge guy. The odds become uneven for Celceia, luckily the X-men show up and battle to a standstill with the Neo. The Neo's leader, Domina, takes out the X-men but Wolvie makes the save. The building collapses into itself or something and Cecelia stays behind to save some humans. Rogue swears revenge.
The Writing: I like X-men a whole lot better than Uncanny. The characters are alot better here, and there is less word bubbles (thank goodness) and the plot is pretty cool. I'm really enjoying the Neo. I think that they're really on par with the rest of the excellent X Rogues Gallery. Good idea for Chris to have them battle the X-men to a standstill to make them seem stronger.
The Art: I didn't like his art on Wolverine (way too dark, and Wolvie looked too old) but his art on X-men is gorgeous. I think the excellent coloring of liquid (I'll get around to this one day) really makes it beautiful.
Overall: If you like the X-men buy it, it's good. But if you don't usually pick up the X-men, you don't have to go out of your way. It's good but not great.
Rating: 7 maybe 7.5
Similar Tastes: All the X-men books (especially the Counter X books), and the rest of the Marvel Team books.
