Over
the years, Malaysia has strongly promoted tourism as an important industry
in generating exchange earnings. One of the strategies is by organising
sports and recreational events. For this, Sports and Recreational Year
was declared for 1998 & 1999 with its primary aim to attract as many
visitors, both local and foreign, to enjoy our sports and recreational
attractions, facilities and events that are available and held in Malaysia.
It is
important that pleasure boating is not promoted as a status symbol of success.It
must be promoted as healthy leisure sport for the family who have the love
for the sea.
