Description/Bio
Thunderbird, as she calls herself, is tall, 5'8", with red-brown hair reaching down to the middle of her back. Her features are not quite completely human, making sure she would stand out in the crowd, which is one reason she stays to the shadows and night as much as she is able. Pointed feline ears stand out at eye level on her head; large, dark almond-shaped eyes accentuate her low browline, and her nose and upper lip are slightly feline in appearance. Her skin is marked in places by dark spots with the look of ocelot-print tattoos, but these markings are part of her natural skin. She wears a sliver pendant crafted in the form of a celtic knot, and carries an ocarina decorated with a Native American thunderbird, her namesake. Her ears, upper lip, and bellybutton are pierced with simple silver hoops, and her left brow by a simple silver barbell. When working, she wears a bodysuit with mid-length sleeves, a mesh panel around her abdomen, and a v neckline. Her boots are knee-length, they have no heel, and are slightly flared at their tops. Her sai sheaths are kept at her hips by the bodysuit's built-in belt. When not working, she dresses raver/punk style, with crop tanktops and wide-legged pants with bondage straps, studded leather bracelets and suchlike.
Her fingers and toes sport non-retractable claws, courtesy of the avian portion of her DNA, but she keeps her toe-claws filed short but still sharp because of the boots she wears. Her body is not completely human, having the abilities of both big cat and bird, as well as having an electricity expulsion power. Her weapons of choice are a pair of beautifully crafted bladed sais, which she uses with a great deal of mastery. She is trained in the martial art of Gen Kuei Do, the Way of the Sai Ghost.
A young woman of about 28, Kessa has lived a lot in her short life. First of a pair of twins born in Ireland, she was the stronger of the two. As part of a genetic obsevation program, they were taken as infants to a branch of this program in Norway that would do something with the observations its Irish counterpart made. Seen as nothing but experimental fodder, her twin, Teska, was killed and used as genetic material grafted into Kessa's DNA in an attempt to enhance her inherited abilities that manifested as a young child, but she knows nothing of it. After growing up and being put through training, she eventually worked her way out of the heirarchy of the program, but the company sponsoring it kept enough of a hold over her to keep her working for them as an international assassin and spy, one of the best. Because of her past, she is suspicious and emotional, except when working. When working, she is cold and calculating. Her worst weakness is children of all ages, but especially the very young. If ever a child is hurt or killed to her knowledge, she reacts with intense anger and near-overwhelming grief. She consideres only one person as friend, Hikyuu, or Pardess, as Kessa calls her, for no one else as yet has won her trust, not even the rest of the team.
