Dublin, Ireland - July 3, 2004

Amazing, I'm in Ireland. Just surreal. I had my friend come and pick me up at the airport. He's a guy I knew in Korea during my Summercamp in JinJu. We worked together, and now here I am in his country! First night was great as well. We went to some town called Skerries and had guiness in a pub. Guiness really does taste incredible in Ireland. I don't think I've ever had a better tasting beer in my life until this day, July 3, 2004. Just unbelievable!!

Its an interesting situation at my friend Alan's house, because he actually has 4 houses!! His girlfriend and himself just bought their own house, plus there is the house he lives with his Mom, then the house he lives at with his girlfriend at his girlfriend's house, plus another "free house" which is basically a squatter house he also stays at in the city of Dublin. Very interesting.

Also feels great to be hearing English again. I haven't been in an English-speaking country for quite some time, and I have to admit it catches my guard all the time. First night in Ireland was interesting. Its really cold here!! I'm freezing! Didn't expect that to be anywhere in the northern hemisphere in July. My first night, went to Alan's friends house and we all went to some pub with live music. Fairly interesting. Also its amazing how strong the connection is with the U.S. even on this end. Many Irish I've met have been to the U.S. or have friends or family or something or another with it. I like that.
