matrix variant 1

matrix variant 1 is a synthesis of image and sound in time. the visual matrix of pattern, form, and movement marries the aural matrix of repitition and sound variation. the four repeating motifs repeat and accelerate in a hypnotic blend of aural and visual cycles. colour also oscillates and the illusion of volume is emphasised through colour permutation. stephan has been teaching computer graphics at the university of mississippi department of art since 1996. his primary focus is computer generated animation, including experimentation in digital media through the world wide web, video and special effects, image manipulation, and interactive media. his work has been exhibited in over sixty exhibitions and festivals internationally.
