Another piece made out of
Cassius Basaltic. After my
luck in creating the 47th
theorem, I got cocky and
decided to do a whole piece
out of the dark clay.
In firing, it didn't just
crack, it tore itself apart, especially
at the tip part. It
has been massively reconstructed
with "Bondo" and other industrial
fillers, colored with
black iron oxide.
The handle is leather strapping
over wood. The tip is
covered with strips of lead
sheet.

I originally wanted to cast
some pewter directly onto
the tip, but could'nt overcome
the technical
challenges. No one
wanted to hold onto the pendulum
and dip it into molten pewter...
