The Aries Male

As one Aries man so blithely put it, "Don't confuse me with the facts!"  This is a man who is on a breathtaking quest for the ideal.  And unless he is mature, this ideal does not have to do with character, Nobel prize-winning intelligence, or Albert Schweitzer-type contributions to the benefit of mankind.  It has to do more with looks: a Dallas cheerleader with great legs, a Playboy bunny with big breasts, a Miss Denmark with ice-blue eyes, white-blond hair, Olympian height.
Subtlety tends to be lost on the Aries man, who is more comfortable with his clothes off and lying horizontal than sitting up discussing politics.  Aries men like to get to the point - very quickly.  And when it comes to women they resort to clichés and stereotypical visions.  Aries men expect women to be women.  Not stockbrokers, eye surgeons, or supreme court justices.  If they have to be those things, then they had better look great with their clothes off.  Shallow?  Yes, when it comes to love and sex.  It is no surprise that they tend to be lotharios.
The good news is that they are also masculine, enthusiastic, generous and not terribly smart about the psychology of sex.  Therefore, it is easier to smile at them than fight with them, because willingly they will never give in.
Aries is not a sign that takes kindly to fidelity, since each new conquest is like an elixir of life.  This is also a sign that can stay fourteen years old forever, while the list of women gets longer and longer.  The Aries man will settle down only if he feels he's found his ideal or if he gives up and decides he'll never find it.  However, his restlessness is not easy to live with.  Unless it is channeled through work, athletics or riding his motorcycle through the living room, his compulsive behavior will lead him into yet another affair.
When immature, Aries men don't want anything from women except that they are sexual caricatures.  Try discussing a little Nietzsche or sharing your favorite Mozart piano quartet and on will come the television.  Come forth with your deepest feelings, thoughts, and fears, and instead of looking at the whites of someone's eyes, you will be reading the black-and-white print of a newspaper.  On the other hand, put on a low-cut negligee, the newspaper will quickly crumble and everything will end up on the floor.
Aries men take great pride in being "real men."  This they see as a source of power.  Therefore, when it comes to physical pain or bothersome emotional feelings, they are above it all and want everybody else to be at the bottom.
Aries men usually don't deal with their feelings in any thoughtful, intelligent way.  And they also are not terribly fond of listening.  Likewise, their energy and charisma can be so overpowering that they don't have to compromise.  They command, and that's the way they like it.  Therefore, there is no getting around this issue: to get anywhere that has any emotional meaning, they have to grow up.
Unlike the other freedom-loving signs, Aries has a need for a partner with which to share experience.  Therefore, that dashing lothario who acts as if he's just fallen in love for the first time, probably has a wife who's at home sleeping, and should she leave him, he would be shattered.  Mr. Aries wants it all, and he often gets it.
Unless they are very old and no longer restless, Aries men usually do not know the power of mature love.  Hot with life, they are determined to pursue it in every direction, without restriction.  When faced with the challenge of commitment, other challenges suddenly become more attractive.
For many signs, this sort of lifestyle would seem shallow.  However, for the Aries man it is his only learning experience.  He is the first sign, the baby of the zodiac, and like all the babies, he must learn through living the significance and mystery of experience and how its meaning changes through time.
