SPECIAL MANHATTAN SITE:  See the Yard!
South Africa
Matt and I visited South Africa from April 7-21, 2001, to attend the wedding of our friends Michael and Justine.  For most of the trip, we travelled with more friends-- Nina and Paul

We started our trip with a few days in Cape Town.  From there we toured the Cape of Good Hope and made a trip to the wine country towns of Stellenbosch and Franschoek.

We spent the weekend outside Johannesburg for the wedding.  It was a Quaker ceremony on a small game reserve that was also the site of the discovery of some of the oldest known hominid bones.

Following the wedding, we went on safari in the eastern provice of Mpumalanga.  We drove back to Johannesburg through Blyde River Canyon and some of the country's early mining towns.

This little site includes a few of our favorite pictures from the trip. In all, we took 26 rolls of film.
