Some people would say that this page is about massaging my own ego. I don't think this is true. From my founding in business theory, I think it is important to understand who you are doing business with. I hope this page helps you to understand who I am, and what I am about.
I am Richard, and I think the skills I have can help people solve their problems. I also think that my skills can pay my bills. I love music, and I love things that look good. I'd like to think that my love for these things and my skill at making these things happen is something that may be useful to other people. I also think that my fluency in Russian gives me a kind of competitive advantage.
I am young enough to know better. Currently, I live in Sheffield, UK. I grew up in Liverpool, and moved away to Sheffield University to study Russian and Business. I hope to move back to Liverpool some day soon. This time last year, I was living in St. Petersburg, Russia for one year, as part of my university course. There, I learnt many things, mainly new ways of looking at life. Now, I hope to use these things to help other people, as well as myself.
I love to play records. Some people call this DJ-ing, but I don't. I have had the priviledge of playing with Wolfgang Flur, formerly of Kraftwerk. As Kraftwerk are one of my favourite bands of all time, I enjoyed this very much. 'You Spin Me Right Round' by Dead Or Alive was Number One in the UK charts when I was born. This is a fact that I am immensely proud of. I also enjoy organising concerts and such like in my spare time. This enables me to meet wonderful, new people, and introduce people to new music, which hopefully they will love. With regards to design, I enjoy the geometric tendencies of De Stijl, Bauhaus, and Constructivism.
At the moment, I write mainly for NEU! magazine, but in the past I have conributed to Sandman in Sheffield, as well as done editorial duties on a variety of things, most notably Hot English Magazine, an English-language publication, distributed around Europe with the aim of improving everyone's English skills. Fab!
