- Love Poems WordsSpending hours mooning over dreams Over fantasies, dancing in the moonlight, Weaving together cleverly crafted words to express feelings Feelings that I dreamed about, Feelings of overwhelming love, of beauty, of wonder Then one day you walked into my life You turned everything upside down and inside out You broke down all of the walls I'd spent years building I learned to trust you, I learned how to love, I learned to be loved Of all of the cleverly crafted words in the world I could not find any to match the depth of my feelings I tried to spin poems like I had so often before It left me dizzy and tired, with a headache Why don't I write you poems like I once did? Why don't I write clever rhymes about the deepness of my love? Everyday my love for you grows, yet I can no longer find the words It isn't because I don't care, or that I'm too busy. It is because the words don't exist to express how much I love you Rhymes and clever words seem petty and empty They seem shallow, inadequate, and cheap My love for you as deep as my soul, and as wide as the universe Feelings that cannot be measured in words, rhymes or poems So please my love Don't think that just because I don't write you poems everyday That my love for you is any less Let my actions speak louder than words When I hold you in my arms and kiss you, And gaze into your eyes Know that I love you more and more each passing day |
