MEETINGS Next Meeting... To all SCA members and prospective members Saratoga Contemporary Artists, in its 50th year, presents community education in the drawing experience on Saturday, Sept. 6th, at the Saratoga Library from 10 to 12 a.m. Tips on how to draw for children or beginners and review for more experienced artists will be presented with demonstrations by Ginny Sampson, a local artist and former art teacher. Emphasis will be on drawing as a basic artistic skill and discovery experience. Drawing activities for the young artists and experienced artists will be presented. Refreshments are available and the session is open to the public. If you have questions, please call Ginny Sampson, 354-3027. Please note also that dues for the coming year are now due. The general rate this year is $25, and $15 for students. Please consider bringing a recent piece of your artwork (no more than two years old) in any medium, (pictures should be matted and/or framed) for other members to enjoy and learn from. One entry only per person is allowed and a minimum of three entries are needed for judging to take place. Only members may participate. The points system will be as follows:
For three entries - 1st place only (3 points) with 1 point each for each picture entered including winning picture. Four or five entries - 1st (3 points) and 2nd (2 points) plus one each for each painting entered as above. Six or more entries - 1st (3 points), 2nd (2 points) and 3rd (1 point) plus one for each painting entered as above.
