Although this sounds like a techno band X Space manages to avoid any particular music genre. Formed in 1998 as a side project from Satinover and Marijan's previous bands X Space became their main activity as they began playing dates.

What Does X Space Do?
X Space's primary interest is musical color or timbre as musicians sometimes call it. Having worked with one another since 1991 Marijan and Satinover improvise using remix technology to create rhythmic and soundscape beds which they use in their compositions.
Although the remixes, used in a DJ setup, are used frequently the duo work with traditional synthesizers and guitar/bass.
Their music is sometimes abrasive and sometimes calm, the range of timbres and note structures lean towards melodic themes with occasions of dissonance.
Most listeners do not know their music is improvised.
And on some occasions the music is remixed fragments of short performances that are edited to create full scale compositions in the pastiche mode of production.
When a structure is played again it sounds different even if certain musical themes are introduced. There are no two performances alike.
This makes for challenging listening to some audiences used to prepackaged music of various styles. However, much of X Space's deep catalog holds well over time, revealing new sonic textures and musical patterns that often are not noticed on first listen.
It would be safe to say X Space makes simplicity out of complexity.
