Culture!
The state of the arts, literature, religion, philosophy,
of social development and work skills too,
for a given people, certain period of time.
A society has culture, expressed in cities
by those people residing their, living daily.
The citizens demonstrate these qualities,
these characteristics of what we call culture.
Cities are the windows of our culture,
for all the world to see.
Counterculture!
Society refers to the opposite of culture.
Those citizens that represent and demonstrate
different views, thoughts, and actions
in the arts, literature, religion, and philosophy,
and in their social development, work skills too
that run counter to mainstream society, norms.
Those in the minority, not in the popular culture
as the majority would like to have it considered.
These people represent the counterculture.
The counterculture can also become the culture
as popular views and actions change over time,
and come to represent the mainstream, norms,
about what people think is their culture.
As this group of people becomes larger,
the counterculture becomes the culture,
and people with different views, norms, emerge
that come to represent the counterculture anew.
And this is how it goes in society, culture v. counterculture,
by the residents of our cities, with the passage of time.
