My epic Oscar* winning films.

Actually, the "Oscar" mentioned above is a stick of gum occasionally handed out
by my strange neighbor named Oscar Smythe. As of now, I only have one film under my belt. A nice little piece of satire
called SABUTIS! (That's latin for "Salvation" to you buddy boy!) It was created
at the Gulf Island Film & Television School on Galiano Island in British Columbia
with two other students named Ben Krakowsky and Leanne Lenzin. It's a humoruos
look at two television addicts who find themselves in TV Withdrawl Camp after
TV is wiped from the Earth. Soon to be appearing at the EyeLens Film Festival
In Vancouver, it is a great little work with an awsome soundtrack composed by
Ken Staufer. I'm very proud of my first film. The first of many to come, I might
add!
It is now a year after I went to GIFTS for the first time, and now I've just come back from another week on Galiano. This time I enrolled in the Advanced Drama course and made two films. The ironic thing is that the two other pople who enrolled in that course were the people who made the movie that I acted in last year. Their names are Sebastien Stewart and Julia Goolia feyrer! We made a 3 minute short called "You're on Drugs!" which is a satire on those '50's anti-drug propaganda films like Reefer Madness. The second is a 6 and a half movie called SNAFU (which stands for Situation Normal All Fucked Up!) I don't really feel like explaining what it's about right now, but if you follow the link at the bottom of this page, you can watch these two films and even vote on them for the GIFTS viewer's choice awards! Hope you like them man!
Well I made another film. This one is for a dance group called Dance Arts. They're going on tour across canada and they're projecting films to the audiance during intermissions. All of the films had to deal with youth violence, so mine is about kids playing war in their back yard, inter-cut with real war footage. The message says that kids think that war is just fun and games, but if you were actually put into that situation, it's anything but fun. It turned out pretty good!!
