My first encounter working as an Extra on the popular TV Series was with 6 others. Apparently we had been dragged into the underground lair of the Tree Spirit, where we would rot or be consumed. The Tree Spirit was a fabulous looking fellow, all bark-like skin with long scraggly black hair and penetrating bright red eyes. We were tied to stakes in an underground cavern on the set. Quite convincing! Real dirt, complete with tree roots, and real smoke from the smoke machine. It was truly claustrophobic. As with most extras work, generally time is spent waiting for your brief moment in front of the camera. Passing a few days with a bunch of dead folks proved to be a very interesting experience. |
