Roses for daddy
on a sunny spring day
I placed them at his side
I had nothing to say
I laid them down
where he rested his head
I wanted him to smell them
as he laid in his eternal bed
I knew he would never awaken
I knew I would never see
but I wanted him to have them
because I loved my Daddy
One Rose at a time
I laid them on both sides
one silent prayer with each
and tears I could not hide
when I gave those roses to daddy
I gave a piece of myself too
Part of me was buried
with the roses that I grew
