2:00 a.m. I truthfully did mean to update earlier, really, I did!!!!! But, by the time I took the monster kid back to "mommy's" it was time to meet the boyz at the prearranged bar for the Super Bowl. Not that I gave a shit about this year's Super Bowl, but I felt the need to get out and cut loose. It didn't work, by the time the fourth quarter rolled around I had my coat on, heading for the door. I tried my best to have a good time, but it just wasn't happening. I think most of it had to do with taking monster kid back to her mother. It is "mom" who is supposed to pick her up from my house when I have her, but she called after getting off work asking if I could bring her by the house whenever I was ready. No problem, except for the fact she was already out and only six blocks from my house, so why didn't she just stop by to pick her up? No, that's not the problem either. The problem is when I called to make sure she was still home (she had told me she might go to the grocery store) she informed me she had "company". She wanted to know if I could handle it, and of course I said yes. Truthfully though, when I did show up and saw the unfamiliar car in her drive, my heart started racing. I wanted so bad to just drive on after letting monster kid out of the truck. To make this already long story shorter, I went in and had the pleasure of squirming along with "him", as it was obvious he wasn't too thrilled with the situation he was put in. I only stayed long enough to inform the ex of how monster kid behaved, and what we did over the weekend. The whole time at the Super Bowl party was spent faking a good time. As I said earlier, I left at the start of the fourth quarter and wandered around to a few more bars all by my lonesome. I did run into a couple of guys I used to party with years ago; it was nice catching up on their lives. I closed down the bar because I got caught up watching a movie, The Postman, starring Kevin Kostner. It was one hell of a movie, I will have to rent it to watch at home sometime.
12:50 p.m. Well, I crashed out before I could finish this entry. Got some nine hours of sleep, a deep relaxing sleep. My spirits are brighter today, even though as I sit here looking out the window, the day is dark, dreary, and wet. So what, I'm going out and going to get some fresh air, maybe take a walk at a local nature preserve. To clear the mind of all the sludge buildup caused by cabin fever, the post divorce blues, the stress at work.
