1. You There -- this one's the single, I think. Originally conceived as a country song, but this version is catchier, I hope. I confess I submitted this song to the American Idol Songwriting Competition. 2. I Will Know -- can't go wrong with only 3 chords! 3. Down on My Head -- here comes the storm 4. Why are We -- an expatriate's lament 5. Still -- Get out of the city, please! 6. Around -- One minute love song. NOTE: Clicking these links will take you to the CBC-3 website, which hosts music from Canada, just for being Canadian. God bless 'em. It's actually a very cool site. |
Made In Taiwan presents... Music from the dirty city and beyond |
Songs from the Dirty City (2004) These songs were recorded in front of my computer in Taiwan, with drum tracks recorded via Minidisc at Jimmy's House music shop in Taichung City. You've gotta love a place where you can play drums for about $3.00 per hour. I have to say of all the tracks I've recorded over the years, these are the most "polished," such as they are. I wish I'd had digital recording when I was in high school! |
Songs from Canada -- SuperHants (2007) These are my most recent tunes, recorded without the benefit of live drums. I find it amazing to believe I could more easliy get hold of a drumset in Taiwan than in Canada, but there you are. Any drums you hear are loops from my multitrack program, Adobe Audition. |
1. Reunion -- actually written several years ago, back in Taiwan times. But only recorded this year, in front of the same computer, but in a different country. A song inspired by only seeing family members at funerals 2. Happiest Days -- this one's actually about my new life in Canada. For all my immigration worries, it went pretty smoothly. But boy, do people like to compain here! I fit right in. NOTE: These will also take you off this site to my CBC-3 site, which is more interesting, anyway. |
My name is Jason Tucker. If you're one of the 10 people who have visited this webpage in the past 7 years, you likely already know that...but I've updated this page because I'm looking for more and shameless ways to market myself and my music, and I'm working on "creating a presence" on the Internet, despite feeling a little too old for these kinds of things.. I'm living in Nova Scotia, Canada, by way of Taichung, Taiwan and Pusan/Daegu, South Korea. It's a long story. If you have some ideas on how to help me make a million dollars (or even just a living) with my songwriting hobby, please email me at jbtucker42, and then "@" and then "yahoo.com" |
Liu Xing ABC (Popular ABC) H.I.M. Music International, Taiwan (2002) This album was, i think, aiming for the massive English-language education market, though it was sold in record stores. I was contracted by this company to write kid-friendly English lyrics to all 12 of the songs they chose for me. If you want to see the cover art and listen to a couple of tracks, click on the link above. |

If you're one of the other 2 or 3 people now using the display name Taiwanjason, sorry. I'm using it just because when I started, it was unique on the net, according to Google. Because most of those links pointed my way, It is the name I'm using to present my music on the Internet. I'm not Taiwanese, but I owe something to the place where most of this was created and recorded. My original lame, non-music-promoting site is here. |
