You've probably already realized that you will not learn much of anything useful on this web page. You will mostly learn about me, and if you don't care to, it's advisable to leave immediately.
This is my head.
Well, my called name is Amanda, I have 18 years, and I live here in Greenville, South Carolina where I go to Furman University. I grew up in Cumming, Georgia, and since I know about Cumming more than I know about Greenville, I shall tell you about it first. It's a real boom town, this Cumming. We even have a Super Wal-Mart now. I like to read and write, worship Allen Ginsberg and Poppy Z. Brite, listen to music, and rage against machines with my best friend, Tammy. We like to try to make life more interesting for the poor, dull souls around us. Sometimes, we harrass the waiters at Steak 'n Shake.
We do, however, much prefer the Waffle House to Steak 'n Shake. The crowds at Waffle House are less Yuppie. Harrassing the Waffle House wait staff is not permitted because they are almost always splendid people, providing bottomless cups of coffee and friendly conversation. This is a picture of me, in the Waffle House in Dawsonville, holding a very valuable coupon.
I live at home, when I'm not at school, with my two parents, "Mom" and "Dad." They're agreeable folks, as they provide for my welfare and let me pierce my nose. I have one older sister, Colette, whom I idolize, and she is married to a lovely man, Tom, who is good at cooking, Trivial Pursuit, and fixing things.
I was a member of lots of oh-so-exciting organizations in high school. The only one with any Internet resources is the marching band. It's a big ship of fools, as you'll see when you go to the page. I did it anyway, though, because I love music, and there were a few interesting people there... Fahey was there, so when the intellectual void got to be too taxing, I could always find devious humour with him. I was also involved in theatre, which I adore. My olde high school's program was excellent, and we won many state championships.
Now that at school, I have to find new ways to amuse myself. Mostly, I study, and when I don't do that, I sleep. I am a DJ for Furman's radio station, WPLS, which is splendid fun. I have met lots of very nice and interesting people there. Sometimes I read... write... I write for "The Paladin," Furman's STELLAR newspaper sometimes. I like to chat with folks on IRC sometimes as well. I have met some intriguing lads from Tejas, whom you might be interested to learn about. Funnily enough, I have also met many people who aren't from Texas on the Internet... So, there's something to consider.

Updated December 19, 1999
- I am pretty sure I like school. Presently, I am home for Christmas. I've decided if I make all A's this term, I am buying myself a pair of leather pants. I'll keep you posted.
- The SATCF [Send Amanda to College Fund] is still in operation, and all proceeds will be used for clothes, cars, and computers. If you are interested in donating, please e-mail me at ginsbergirl@geocities.com].
- I am NO LONGER on page 62 in Naked Lunch. I have progressed somewhere beyond 100, but I left the book at school. I still hope to finish sometime before the world ends, but this is looking less and less likely with each passing day.
- I am still in love with the Atlanta-based band the Tender Idols. I saw them open for Drivin' n' Cryin' and then again at the Variety Playhouse during the Atlantis Music Conference. I met the singer, Ian Webber, afterward, and he is absolutely captivating. He is beautiful to the point of pain. But, besides all that poppycock, their music is just splendid! Visit their web page at www.tenderidols.com for pictures, sound files of songs, news, tour dates, and more. Tell them I sent you! HAHA.
- Check out The Elliott Page. You'll be happy to know that its subject found it and sent me an e-mail. He was quite nice and didn't threaten any sort of legal action. You should all go follow the link to his band's page.
- My hair is basically back to normal now. I have lost 82 pounds since February 1999. I will keep this updated as well, just for the curious and bored.
