This is a Christmas card made by Genie Rogers for her brother Edward Forster Thompson and his wife Eliza Thompson (nee Harvey) in 1903. She was working at a solicitor's office in Stroud at the time, and collaborated with the lawyer (Mr Moody) to produce this very legal - looking declaration of affection for her brother and sister-in-law. An interesting post-script to the story - in 1950 she was visiting Stroud with her son David (my great-uncle) and noted that the solicitors office was still there, looking very much the same as she remembered it. On a whim, they popped in to the office - and to her amazement, found that Mr Moody was also visiting the office, looking very much like she remembered him from when she started working there in 1897!
