Midnight and Beyond
"Welcome..."
a voice behind you whispers.
You look over shoulder but
see no one. You think it's your imagination
and continue down the the
cool damp hallway wishing there was better light.
The hallway grows darker as you continue on and
it's hard to see.
You run your hand along the slippery stone wall.
You're about to turn back when you see the flickering
light of a candle.
You pick it up and notice a sign posted on the
wall.
The writing is big yet hard to read....
Be quiet as you visit here,
I'm in one of the rooms
finishing
the last few chapters of my book and searching for an agent.

you turn to your left and continue down another
hallway,
shielding the candle's flickering flame with your
hand.

a voice behind you says.
You turn and look, but still there is no
one.
A cool breeze sweeps throught the hallway,but
there are no windows.
There are doors to your left and to the right.
Each door has something carved in it.
You look closer...
