I feel very lucky to be one of the few people my age who has an idea of what I want to do with my life in the long run. I have comprised a list of my future goals, which includes everything from owning my own business, to public service, and also including family time - because I am not one who believes in foresaking a personal life for a professional one.
In my lifetime, I would like to accomplish the following in no particular order:
Get "married" to my partner, whomever she is, and have a great ceremony.
Open a successful nightclub.
Have at least two children.
Perhaps begin career in radio.
Remember my anniversary.
Begin a career in photojournalism.
Make documentaries.
Buy my own house.
Open community centers in various inner city neighborhoods that provide an escape from the severities of city life, and also an insight into new experiences that the people wouldn't otherwise have.
Open homeless shelters that actually help people get back on their feet. Ones that provide shelter, clothing, and food, but also job training and educational assistance through connections with local businesses and schools.
Write a book on my life, because it's been a hard, yet exciting, unbelievable-yet-believable one.
Still remember my anniversary.
Take care of my mom.
Travel all over the world.
Retire, knowing I did all I could to leave the world a better place than I found it.
Do you think I have enough time to do it all? Trust me, I will.
