There's a wonderful wonderful article in this week's Saturday Night Magazine. This piece compares the dubbing of The Simpsons as it is done in France with as it is done in Quebec. This short piece uses The Simpsons to illuminate such lofty topics as language, class, and racism. And did I mention that it's short? The same issue of Saturday Night also ponders the question, Why Do So Many Canadians Play Golf Left Handed? Where else could you read about such facinating aspects of Canadian culture? The mind staggers. |
