I was going to write about that many North Americans of late are finding the media coverage of the recent international events somewhat lacking and, as a response, are flocking to British media for news that respects their intelligence. I've noticed this in my workplace and I recently heard a piece on NPR that The Guardian and the BBC both have noticed a spike in American traffic to their websites.

But then I learned that North Americans with a BBC jones don't hold a candle to the Afghans.

The Taliban - who banned most civil liberties to women as well as other distractions such as music and kite flying - don't dare ban radio listening largely because of a BBC radio program based on the British BBC Radio 4 soap, The Archers.
