You can download the models and photo textures, in this piece, from various web sites. The 32 Dodge was found at Viewpoint in the free model section; the 34 Ford was found at Cybazarr; download buildings from Baument ; and the photo textures are from Forrest. The 3D lettering above the Chinese restaurant is a DXF model created with Elefont.
The Old Water Hole ant mound started out as a simple mountain with a
hole at the top. I remembered seeing an ant model, in the 3DCafe, to add
to this mound. I combined the two, and it turned out rather nice without
too much tweaking. | |
Adding a cloud intermingled with the trees gave this piece a colder appearance. The purple color was quite by accident, and I felt it worked nicely. The trees were taken from the CD provided with Bryce 2.
Well you might remember Robby the Robot of Forbidden Planet and of course C-3PO of Star Wars. I had to add the full metalic setting and adjust the blue texture with lots of reflection to get the correct effect on Robby. This was merely an experiment to see how they might look meeting each other.
Turning off accepting shadows on the planet in the background gave an illusion of depth to this sci-fi scene.
We sure could have used these gals at our near strike last fall. The female model textures were found at DH-Designs. It had several textures that can be applied to the female models created in Poser.
The sea waters are composed of two seperate water planes. The same technique used to make the grass in Corona Paradise was used to make the sand and water peaks but in a lesser scale. The second water plane was a thin rounded plane to create the shine after the water recedes.
The electrical lightning from the power lines was created with Photoshop
4 and 5. The explanation is rather lengthy, but if you need it, please notify
me by email. | |
This is another experiment using Kai's Power Tools 5 Photoshop filters to attain the web effect. The free spider model was taken from 3D Cafe web site.
With Poser, I created the female model, which I imported with parts to give her clothing. The tumble weeds were formed by giving a boulder a transparent green color line texture then distorting the lines by turning up the complexity. I duplicated the boulder progressively smaller 4 times. Each time rotating the boulder
slightly. | |
The nest is a series of spheres replicated over and over. I then applied a texture, in Bryce, that had positive and negitive spaces within it. Because of the neg and pos areas it took quite sometime to render (about an hour). The bird was taken from Avalon free model web site.
A different camera angle gave this simple scene an interesting approach. |
