I am an artist, a writer and a student. I obtained my B.A. in English from University of Victoria (Victoria, B.C. Canada) and attempted my masters at Dalhousie University (Halifax N.S. Canada) but was thwarted by a major depressive episode. I am currently studying fine arts at North Island College (Courtenay B.C. Canada) and plan to pursue a career in art therapy.

My major literary influences are Virginia Woolf, Sylvia Plath, Douglas Adams, and Dr.Seuss. My major artistic influence is Odilon Redon.

The images on this site are all over six months old and really represent a phase in my work that is ended.  I am keeping this site online primarily as an archive of my former work which is still very interesting, and because it has really cool pictures of my cats.

To view my current work please click on the image below and visit The Vortex!

The artwork on this site represents many of the defininitions of myself I have dealt with in the past, primarily that of the "Mad Artist". . . while I have decided to forgo these definitions in favor of the ones I have created for myself in The Vortex, I still like to play around with these ideas so there will be new work on this site in time. . .as it is it is a very strong record of my past work and displays the roots of my current artistic movement.

Please do not confuse "The Vortex Collection" on this site with my newer work on "The Vortex" site.  The Vortex Collection are a number of poems which I wrote about five years ago in my last year at UVic.  They were inspired by my classes, by Star Trek and by a group of friends called The Vortex Collective which I belonged to at the time.  My current Vortex work is very much inspired by this time in my past - hence the use of the name The Vortex Collective to define the new species I create on my Vortex website (I think the poem titled "If I Were A Q" is a direct precursor to The Vortex).
