This popular art of south india is one of the oldest art which belongs to the early 18th century.The painting has its uniqueness because of its rich colours and ornamentation which is a blend of gold leaves and stones.


Earlier these paintings were embedded with real diamonds,rubies and other precious stones.But now with the passage of time,the artists use semi-precious and artificial stones to embellish the painting.
