B eautiful H orizon is what Belo Horizonte means in portuguese, a city with with wonderful ligths and colors you sure must know, and if you do, you´ll never forget.

 

 

Belo Horizonte is the third populated city of Brazil with 2,5 milion of inabitants. Its metropolitan region, is formed by more than 20 cities, all of then with great touristic atractions.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The city was planed to be the calpital of the state of Minas Gerais , replacing Ouro Preto, the old one. Its area is 335 Km², limided at the south side by the Serra do Curral mountain were is extracted a iron minerium of high quality. The weather is pretty good all over the year its altitude is 850m, with a rage of temperatures varing between 16 a 30 degrees centigrades all over the year.

These are good reasons to know Belo Horizonte that is the main gate when you want to know the historical cities as Ouro Preto and Mariana or see the caverns as Lapinha e Maquiné or drink straight from mineral water fountains in cities such as Araxá, Cambuquira or Lambarí.

 

The Municipal Park, a isle of peace, located on the city central area, an exit from the metropole rush , situated only a few minutes of any point inside the Contorno Ave. A good sensation is to be downtown as we were in a contemplation place.

 

Once In Belo Horizonte you must know the neoclassical arquiteture of the Praça da Liberdade place and the Pampulha arquitetonic complex projected by Niemeyer (famous brasilian arquitect), all painted by Portinari and with a landscape projected by Burle Marx

A neighborhood named Savassi join the sophisticated shops of the city and offer a most uptodate nightlife of the city in that place lots of restaurants, snac bars and nightclubs make your night unforgetable.
