Dearest Kay, Yuan and Kat,
L - R: Yue Ling (me), Kay, Yuan and Kat
Here's a little poem specially for you gals.... thanks for everything that you are and that you have made me.
I will miss you guys when I am 10,000 miles from Singapore but just remember that I will always have that space in my heart where I can search into and find solace in... here's to our friendship today, tomorrow and always!
Ps : this poem also goes out to all the brave young people who sacrified themselves for us in the WWII...
Still remember how I was/am simply ~nuts~ about "Memphis Belle", well, here's the poem my 'Danny Boy' read out....
An Irish Airman Foresees His Death
by William Butler Yeats
I know that I shall meet my fate
Somewhere among the clouds above;
Those that I fight I do not hate,
Those that I guard I do not love;
My country is Kiltartan Cross,
My countrymen Kiltartan's poor,
No likely end could bring them loss
Or leave them happier than before.
Nor law, nor duty bade me fight,
Nor public men, nor cheering crowds,
A lonely impulse of delight
Drove to this tumult in the clouds;
I balanced all, brought all to mind.
The years that come a waste of breath,
A waste of breath the years behind
In balance with this life, this death.
With deepest gratitude and lots of love,
Yue Ling
