Benjamin Wilson was born at Clyde, Ohio, October 22,1833,and departed this life at Ransom,Mich., October 31, 1915, at the age of 82 years and 9 days. When 25 years of age he was united in marriage to Nancy Sarnes. To this union were born seven children, three sons and four daughters, two of whom have preceded him in death. He has made his home with his children since the death of his wife in 1910. In 1882 he moved with his family to Monroe County, Mich., and resided there until he moved to Hillsdale County in 1892, where he lived until the time of his death. At an early age he gave his heart to God and has always been an earnest and devoted Christian, trusting the Lord until his death. He was always a loving husband and father and a good neighbor. He leaves to mourn his loss two sons, Robert of Monroe, Mich., David of Ransom, Mich., three daughters, Florence Bowman and Amelia Adams of Hudson, Mich., and Nora Grice of Alberta, Canada, two sisters, Mrs Charles Hortop of West Toledo and Mrs Peter Netcher of Swanton; besides other relatives and a large circle of friends.
The body of Benjamin Wilson of Ranson, Mich., was brought to Elmore Monday for burial beside his wife in Union cemetery. The funeral took place Tuesday forenoon at Trinity M. E. church Rev. Coontz officiating.
Mr Wilson was born at Clyde but spent his early life in this vicinity. Over thirty years ago he moved to Michigan, first to Monroe county then to Hills county where he died. He left two sons, three daughters, one step-son, and two sisters most of whom live in Michigan. He was quite successful in life and left considerable property.
Mrs. Benjamin Wilson, (nee Nancy Perdue), formerly of this place, died at Ransom, Mich., Thursday, September 8, 1910 after an illness of ten days, aged 74 years and 9 days. She is survived by a husband, six children, 3 sons and 3 daughters. The remains were brought here to the home of Dr. Ernst Probel Saturday evening and the funeral was held at the M.E. Church, Sunday afternoon, Rev. E.D. Smith officiating, and the interment was in the Union Cemetery.
