Soldier
Hero of war,
Soldier of peace,
With a heart full of pride,
Yet haunted by the ghosts of fear,
You carried your armour
To the frontlines of fate
As a newborn blindly enters the world.

Trained to kill, you aimed and fired,
Driven by deep-rooted thoughts of victory;
With each falling target
Came down a fragment of your soul.

With eyes shrouded by memories of home,
You bravely sacrificed your freedom
For the freedom of those you loved.

You watched Death,
Disguised in enemy colors,
Take away your comrades,
Destroy their hopes, their dreams, their lives.

You watched Death,
Invincible warrior in the battle of existence,
Take away your life.

Innocent blood
Shed for the salvation
Of a world which knows not
The true meaning of
Peace.
