Dreams

in the solitude of sleep
long after the sandman has come
you come to me in my dreams
to hold me through the night
a vision so real that I can feel you
and taste your kisses so divine
your touch so soft and warm
your voice a song in my heart
whispering words of love to me
my dreams are such a happy place
there is but you and I
sharing the joy of being as one
but all too soon the morning comes
and I find myself alone
to face the world without you
with only your memory to keep me strong
and I long for sleep to come again
to bring your love to me

On The Wind

I heard your voice calling me on the wind
A lonely voice crying out in the night
Searching for someone to hold on to
Searching for someone to share her every thought
your sweet sorrow touched my very soul
and all my loneliness disappeared
I cried out in return
sending a message to you
my words going straight to your heart
caressing it gently with an unseen hand
releasing your loneliness forever
I called out to you
Come let us not be lonely anymore
Take my hand
feel my love flow
walk with me by my side forever
share the joy of love with me
let us let our love grow stronger and stronger
together walking through fire and storms
Our love a protective cocoon that keeps us unharmed
you heard me calling
and rushed to my side
you reached out and took my hand
and drew me close to you
our lips touched tenderly
unleashing a river of love
pent up for far too long
our eyes locked on each other
spoke of the love felt deep in our hearts
we laughed we danced we cried
the search was over now
our hearts became as one
As we stood there in the sun
and bathed in its unending warmth

My Heart's Feelings

I will always love you
today
tomorrow
and forever
When we cannot be together
your image is embedded in my mind
always there to recall when I am lonely
the taste of your lips on mine
softer than a summer sky
your fragrance as I hold you close
no flower could compare
your heart beating in time with mine
your very essence
filling my heart with love

Untitled

She smiles shyly as she sees me
her eyes so full of love
My heart melts as she takes my hand
and draws me close to her
she stands on tippy toes to kiss me
and she takes my breath away
I hold her at arms length for a moment
gazing in wonder at her beauty
I pinch myself to see if I am dreaming
So lost in love am I
She slowly comes toward me
and lays her head upon my chest
and whispers oh so softly
Hold me tight my love
My emotions overwhelm me
and I become misty eyed
And I know that if lost her
something inside would die

Soulmates

Your heart speaks to mine with words of love
as I melt into your soul
and I am lost in the soft glow of happiness
so desperately wanting to not let go
to hold you in my arms forever
so afraid this moment will slip through my fingers
I close my eyes and pray
that what we share will last forever
as our love grows stronger every day
and that we will be soulmates
playing among the stars
soaring so high on a cloud of love
dancing to the song of the wind
never letting the flame of love
turn into dying embers
I love you

Until You Return

when you are not with me
I am lost and alone
my days are misty grey
a fog shrouded loneliness
seems to envelop me
Time passes oh so slowly
each moment seeming like an eternity
I miss you so much
your voice a million miles away
seems to echo in my mind
how long have you been gone
it seems like ages
has it only been a few days
it feels like forever
hurry home to me love
and turn the grey of lonliness
into the color of joy

An Unspoken Promise

this woman who stands before me
I worship her
I adore her
I would hold her forever
if she were but mine Her beauty captivates me
her smile so radiant
goes right to my heart
her love transcends my world
once so full of gloom
into a paradise where
my heart sings once anew
I live in the hope that one day
we can share our days as one
the two of us hand in hand
forever walking together
leaving our footprints
in the sands of time
I love you sweetheart

Our Seasons Of Love

It was a warm summer day
the smell of peach blossoms filling the air
quiet and peaceful with nary a sound to be heard
save for the constant hum of the bees
as they worked their magic on the flowers they visited
the sun shone brightly and it was the first summer of our love

We lived miles apart
separated by fields upon fields of golden wheat
but neither distance nor fields could keep us apart
we were in love

Racing across the fields that
separated us from happiness
you would come to me
all buttons and bows
your long brown hair flowing freely
your eyes dancing
and we would kiss
oh so soft and tenderly

We would take the path that led to Sutter's Pond
and we would spend long afternoons
skinny dipping in it's warm waters
and afterwards we would lie in each others arms
naked and unashamed
making love to each other
pledging our undying love

We were both eighteen
young and in love
it was our summer of love
and it was beautiful

Now many summers have come and gone
and our bodies have grown old with time
but as we sit on the porch
and watch the stars at night
I reach out and take your hand
and I smile..

An Unfulfilled Love

What good are my arms
if I cannot hold you
or my lips
if the kisses I so desire
I cannot taste
my heart may as well not beat anymore
for without you
there is no joy
and I am empty inside

composed nov 7 2000 by Philip M. Cook

Heartbeats By The Shore

lost in a swirl of love
beside the sky blue waters
that run as deep as forever
my heart beats in time with yours
as the sun caresss our bodies gently
our lips brush gently together
and our bodies melt into each other
with a tenderness that only lovers can know
time passes slowly each second lasting an eternity
we have become one
the bond between us can never be broken
for we belong together

Confessions of Regret

icy cold stares from eyes the colour of crystal blue waters
the tension between us so thick it overrides all sense of sanity
a chill in the air as your voice trembles as you struggle to voice your feelings
the look of utter contempt towards me upon your face
You have made your decision to end it and I must live with it
In my heart I know I deserve all of this
As it was my foolish ways that have finally destroyed what was once beautiful
the hurt and pain caused by my indescretions you once overlooked but can no longer tolerate
A fool I was to chase after my own selfish pleasures
with no regard to the feelings gnawing away at your insides
My utter disregard for the commitment we made to each other so long ago
How can I blame you for the hate you now feel for me
I am sorry now if that is any consolation
I wish that none of this had ever happened
But it has and I cannot change the past
Oh how could I have been so stupid to exchange a few minutes of pleasure
with a stranger for the love of someone as special as you
It's funny now that I am about to lose you
there is nothing I can say to defend myself from my actions
Anything I say now will ring hollow in your ears
And as you finally turn and start to walk out of my life
I shed a tear that you will never see
For in my heart I know that I will always love you
and a part of me is slowly dying
I am sorry love

Loneliness

awash in a sea of emptiness
lost in its misty gray waters
my heart cries out for love
Every day a struggle to survive
the pain of loneliness sometimes to much to bear
my soul slowly dying
my spirit broken
the will to carry on weakening day by day
I am standing at the edge
ready to leave
when you come into my life
your sparkling eyes offering
a faint glimmer of hope
a ray of sunshine appears on the horizon
my mind is abuzz with questions
has love come to find me
is there hope after all
or is this a cruel joke
that only delays the inevitable

composed early 1999 by Philip M. Cook

My Treasure

to be the one who holds you tight
and dances in your soul
to lose my head
to lose my heart
to lose my self control
to feel your touch
to feel your lips
to feel your hand in mine
will be a treasure that I shall keep
until the end of time

A Rose In Someone Else's Garden

I see you from afar
unable to reach out and touch you
feelings of frustration
overwhelming me
you are the forbidden fruit
my body craves
you are a rose not in my garden
whose fragrance I shall never know
a single rose so beautiful and elegant
that tears at my very soul
for someone else has chosen this rose
to make his garden complete

Beyond The Stars

Come travel with me my love
Take my hand and do not be afraid
Let your heart beat in time with mine
And let what we feel take us
Beyond the place where stars cascade
And time is suspended in blissful tranquility
Where dazzling meteors showers didplay their
Awesome kaleidoscope of astral colours
Come with me my love
To this place known only as forever

Searching

she lives in a place
where time stands still
and the streams flow gently by
she sits by herself
this lonely young girl
and longs for the day he will come
and take her away
to places unseen
and fulfill every one of her dreams
she will wait for this man
until he comes along
and love him and treasure him dear
and if I were this man
then my life would be blessed
and my search would finally be done

Spellbound

Beware the wicked wicca girl
with eyes as black as coal
She'll wrap you up in chains of pearls
and forever claim your soul

You have no power to leave this girl
whose beauty reaches deep inside
You will worship her from near and far
She is your chosen bride

There's no escape from her magic ways
you will always seve her well
And until the time of your dying days
upon your soul will rest her spell

Mystery Girl

The thoughts of love
that we once shared
brings happiness to me
I smile at how our souls we bared
though it could never be

For we both needed more
than we could give
A dream we could not chase
I have no regrets save for one
I never knew your face

You are the face
I never knew
who made my heart dance free
my mystery girl
who I loved so true...
It just wasn't meant to be
