I'm sitting here in my lab. Nothing much is happening at the moment. My academic advisor is not available for me get his signature.
Have you ever given it a thought that if you were given a chance to relive the past few years of your life, if not your whole life, would you have grabbed the chance? Would you have done things differently? Avoided certain mistakes? Made different choices?
I think whatever has happened had its purpose. It's God's gift in a way. Our experiences are unique. What we are today is the result of those experiences. Come to think of it, even if we relive our life, we might end up making different mistakes anyway.
However, things would really be a bed of roses if we are allowed to change only the mistakes. It'll be fantastic if we can open our Life Manager and start deleting 'bad' files and replace them with 'good' ones. However, I'm sure God has other plans.
I think the key idea is not to regret making mistakes up to a point of feeling depressed, discouraged, disillusioned and dejected. If we can learn from our mistakes and wrong choices, we are building our character. This dynamic process of building is, in its own way, more beautiful than the static state of being 'mistakeless'. Although being 'mistakeless' is not bad, we still have to remember that we are human...
And that's life...
If only,
Bart
