It's 9.55 pm on May Day (This mail was composed on May Day and typed the day after). I'm in my apartment. So, the circus animals are keeping me company and entertained, especially Eli the Elephant with his friendly call... Urrrgh... urrrgh... The weather's fine so far but, earlier, I could hear thunder complaining... grumble... grumble...
I started the day with a swim, my first swim in my apartment pool. It was a good 1 hour's worth. My housemate, trying to bring back memories of his trip to Pulau Redang and Perhentian, brought his pink snorkle along. Towards the end of my swim, my bladder was so full that it was practically going to burst. Speaking of full bladders, I heard that in Australia, a certain chemical is added to the water in some swimming pools. Should anyone decides to answer natures call in the pool, the chemical reaction would cause the water around him/her to change colour... (preferbly red... a scene from Jaws. Heh! Heh!)
At 1.30 pm, I had lunch and caught a bus to Komtar. Then, I found myself in Penang Road to get my supply of 2nd-hand Readers Digests. After leaving Maukah? Maukah?, I popped into College General to say "Hi!" to some of the more familiar faces there who were attending the NCC Leadership Camp. My visit lasted less then half an hour. At 4.45 pm, I left and decided to walk to Midlands Park. Yes, I walked... 'and I walked and I walked all night'...
As I walked along a drain, I came across a middle aged man clad in nothing but a pair of green shorts. He was armed with a net in his left hand and a long stick in his right. A short distance away stood a pail half filled with water. Leaning over it, I saw many small fishes - presumably guppies or peacocks. The man dipped the net into the drain and with the stick, he tapped the side of the drain an arms length away to scare the fishes into his net. Quite clever, I must say...
To be continued ...
Yours 'kay-poh-cheeing'ly
Bart
