My Inspiration If I could paint a picture, I'd paint a portrait of you Filled with beautiful colours Gold, Silver and Blue You'd be my Mona Lisa My great work of art Although I'd rather be known As the man who stole your heart But a portrait could not hold you Could not imitate your life I could work for ten million years And still not get it right If I were a sculptor I'd create a statue of you A statue so magnificent For all the world to see I'd carve your likeness into stone Putting in every minute detail From the delicate shape of your fingers To the texture of your hair Yet a statue could not capture The brilliance of your soul Could not copy your spirit That truly makes you whole If I could write a song I'd write a symphony for you All the musical instruments Playing in harmony for you The song would be as sweet as bells As sweet as your own voice The world would fall in love with you And it would be by choice And though the song may express easier The way I really feel There is still something missing Something just not real So I write to you this poem To show how much I care You've been so kind to me And you've always been there Although you can not be depicted In any form of art I just wanted to let you know I love you with all my Heart -Edward H.
