(What's the Story) Morning Glory?

The 2nd Album by Oasis

.

Track List:
(1) Hello
(2) Roll With It
(3) Wonderwall
(4) Don't Look Back in Anger
(5) Hey Now
(6) Swamp Song
(7) Some Might Say
(8) Cast No Shadow
(9) She's Electric
(10) Morning Glory
(11) Swamp Song Reprise
(12) Champagne Supernova

Favourite Track: There was a time when it was "Some Might Say." And another time when it was "She's Electric." But I must admit that I always turn it to "Roll With It" first, so that must be a sign, yeah? Even if it is the one that apparently has no meaning.

Did You Know...

Designing the Morning Glory sleeve cover was a bit of a headache; it was difficult for designer Brian Cannon to capture the entire album's feel in a single image. Noel's instructions called for "something less light-hearted than usual". Noel finally gave the pointer that the feel of the LP was "urban"' and suggested a street scene. Londoners will recognise the street used at Berwick Street in Soho, but elsewhere in the world, it's just an urban scene.

Noel was originally supposed to be one of the men in the shot, but fell ill and so asked Brian to fill in for him. "He reckoned the backs of our heads were pretty similar." Shaun Roley is the guy coming towards the camera.

After 300 frames shot (starting at 4:30 am), they used the first one taken! "If I'd known, I would have sacked the shoot after 5 minutes," declared Cannon. The two men paced the street for three hours, and while "it looks really tranquil and quiet, there were loads of people there." Owen Morris, Oasis' producer, is in the shot holding up a master tape of the album. "He was pissed and shouting at the top of his voice. He almost got us arrested. I'm particularly pleased with the look on Shaun's face - I said something to him to get that reaction. What was it? I'm afraid that's unprintable. Let's just say it concerned his mother."
