Hell Yeah I went to see Oasis in Oslo last night! Hell Yeah they rocked the house, and Hell Yeah I'm still on cloud nine!

So how should I put this. I didn't even know if I was going for sure until noon yesterday when I was informed that I had THIRD ROW tickets. Groovy. So I leave school early to catch me plane, and I arrive in Oslo at 5:30. Check into the hotel and head on over to the Spektrum.

On my way there, the taxi driver informs me that "Lie-am" (that's how he pronounced it. Yeah, REAL cute.) might not show 'cos last he heard "Our" Kid was in London with an ear infection. No, really, *I* wasn't bitter. But he wasn't sure, so I crossed my fingers.

Hell Yeah I saw Meg! And I don't care what anyone says, she really IS pretty. I suppose she's just not photogenic. (How the HELL do you spell that...)

So! After spending MUCHO on T-shirts, programmes, etc. for friends (and myself, of course!), I decided to look for my seat. And what do I find. Not only am I CENTRE, but I'm FIRST ROW. I kind of kicked myself 'cos had I got there an hour earlier, it would have been worth it to be at the standing part, but I seeing as how by now there were a lot of people down there, I figured I had a better view of the stage from my seat. So I stayed there.

Well, seeing as how no one knew who was opening for 'em, might I just say that I was VERY pleasantly surprised to see Ocean Colour Scene walk out! AHHH! (Was this a dream come true? I think it was.) Anyway, I guess I wasn't familiar with any of the songs they did that WEREN'T on Moseley Shoals, but they did do The Circle, The Day We Caught the Train, and The Riverboat Song among others. And while I knew that their guitarist was ACE before, I don't think I fully comprehended it until I saw him live. Holy Schnikes!

But I guess you lot want to hear about Our Kids. Well! When the 'curtain' (big clock in middle of it and a die in each corner) dropped, the band came out, and how happy was I to see Liam come out as well! If you've read Derek's site, then you'll have heard about the '3D' stage, and it was true. What I think was the cutest thing was that Alan's drum set was actually on TOP of the Roller. And while they were playing BHN (first song and ROCKIN'!!! You betcha!), the headlights were flashing. They walked out of a (massive) telephone booth, and there was also a clock with the hands going backwards.

Set List:

  • Be Here Now
  • Stay Young
  • Stand By Me
  • Supersonic
  • Some Might Say
  • Roll With It
  • DYKWIM
  • Magic Pie (Noel)
  • DLBIA (Noel)
  • Wonderwall
  • Live Forever
  • It's Getting Better (Man!!) -- It sure as 'fro WAS.
  • Champagne Supernova
  • Fade In-Out
  • All Around the World
  • Acquiesce

After BHN, Liam was like (in an ATTEMPT at a Norwegian accent), 'So this is Nor-weh, eh? Norrrrr-weh! Norrrr-weh!' Which of course got the crowd pumped. 'Well, me ear's gotten better!' More cheering. On Roll w/ it, he was like, 'Yeah, 'cos I'm still fookin' mad for it, you know.'

I have never heard Liam sound better. I don't know how to emphasise that. Holy fro, I really couldn't believe it. He hit EVERY note perfectly. Even the key changes on All Around the World! And blow me down with a pile of bricks, Noel's guitar solos were ON PAR (sp?)! The one that sticks out is DYKWIM. Not that his singing was anything to ignore! He sounded SO BLOOMIN' GOOD. At the end, he finished with the 'ShuddUP!' and they had the recording of the flipping through radio stations thing (like on the album) which was kyewel. Wonderwall was done by Liam, and Noel played his electric guitar which was REALLY block rockin'! I placed a bet that they would dedicate Live Forever to Princess Diana, and, yes, I won. On IGBM, Liam was like, 'This one's called IGBM. (small cheers from crowd) I don't think me ear's gotten totally better: I said this one is called IGBM!!! (mucho cheering) Much better!' CS was for OCS, and after a graniose guitar solo from Noel, they said that was it, and left... Only to come back about 30 seconds later saying, 'Just kidding!' So into Fade In-Out they went. And I don't know who it was that said that Fade In-Out would be a ROCKIN' song live, but you were right! Alan (who's drumming was EXCELLENT! Obviously.) did this weird drum spiel, and it almost sounded like the beginning of a dance song(!!). Noel's solo on AATW was even MORE grandiose than CS's, and Liam stood there jokingly looking at his watch and doing the 'we're not worthy' thing to his big bro. Then they said good-night AGAIN and left, only to come back and have Liam say, 'We're NEVER leaving!' But they did Acquiesce and were off.

Hell Yeah it was everything I wanted it to be and more. Liam was his arrogant self (but he kicked off some stuff that people had thrown on a bit of the stage for 'em! Pity that!) with a touch o' class (After SMS: 'Sorry for that bit in the middle where I messed up. It was me ear again.'), and yes, he did his luverly monkey walk. Guigsy was as cute as ever and did little interactions with the people on his end of the arena (small talk, etc.). Bonehead had fun waving. Alan played the drums like I have NEVER heard them played, and yes, Noel did perfect guitar solos and great vocals.

ANYWAY, to sum it up, I could not be happier right now. NeverMIND the fact that I woke up at five this morning, took a plane, got back to Stavanger, and went from the airport to the school. (NO REALLY, I'm not tired.)
