Without the Parker Brothers, no one truly knows if the "Ouija" would have went on. They had the foresight to see the need. And that's what makes there company great. As soon as they have a web page, it will be posted.
I would like to thank William & Isaac Fuld and the Parker Brothers, for without them we would not have the "Talking Board's" of today.
The next portion that I will put on here is what I got from the Salem Massachussets Witch Museum, and they in turn got it from Parker Brothers.
During the 1890's, when the Parker brothers were building their company, another set of brothers was in the midst of introducing the hottest game item that their company would ever have. The brothers were Isaac and William Fuld and the item was the talking board. Since it's introduction, the Ouija board has always enjoyed cyclical popularity, usually reaching high points during times of war. The boards were always in great demand, but the Fulds and their present-day descendants always had trouble keeping up the supply. Realizing that Ouija boards were popular and that the Fuld Company was having problems supplying them, Parker Brothers approached the family in 1966 and found them receptive to the idea of another family-owned firm taking over as sole producer of the "mystifying oracle." In 1967, during the height of the Vietnam War, and also the first full year that the boards were handled by Parker Brothers, sales of Ouija boards reached 2,300,000. Monopoly sales that year were a mere 2,100,000. Although it was the only time that Ouija topped the "great one", sales during the first few years of Parker's ownership hovered around the 2 million mark and the Ouija board is currently a very solid Parker staple."
"Ouija" is a registered trademark of the "Parker Brothers" Corporation.
