The Seance - How to Summon the Dead
Learning to summon the dead is no matter to be taken lightly. Many have lost their way in the great work becoming psychotic or insane. It takes a discipline of mind , focus , deep breathing exercises and meditation. The study of information on the deceased person will aid making a connection. Its partly empathic - you feel some of what the spirit felt - you think thoughts the spirit thought.
Identification with the spirit and visualization of your
target is of prime importance. This goes back to ancient magic and mankind’s psychic
abilities. Jung’s theory of synchronicity states that a person is a reflection of the universe
in miniature - thus we are a microcosm within the macrocosm. He said if we can
energize a primal symbol [archetype] then that symbol can be externalized from
your micro-universe into the macro-universe. This is part of the work of transformation to achieve the godhead or enlightenment if you prefer. It is this process that Jung felt was the real power in all magic and psychic abilities. Refer to Francis Frazier’s laws of ancient magic. The law of similarity states, things that are similar can effect their counterpart. Thus the shaman chants and dances and pours water on the ground in hopes of bringing rainwater from the heavens. A voodoo doll uses two laws - first a doll to represent the symbol of the object person also a real voodoo doll requires something personal from the person under psychic attack. It can be nail clippings, hair or cloth from a shirt. Basically the law of contagion states, things that have touched you or an object will continue to have an effect on that object. So all magic and psychic powers are said to be powered by our internal symbolic mechanisms. Chants, ritual objects, speaking in tongues, sacred dances, spirit dolls are all symbols. Any great making , power or spirit magic goes through this process. I admit many just call a spirit without understanding the process and just seem to have the knack for it. We breathe but can you describe the mechanism of breathing and what is the feeling of breathing? What keeps us breathing while we sleep? Even the Christian religion mirrors many of these concepts.”The kingdom of God is within you.” “God made Adam in his image.” This just names a couple of lines. There are many more.
Mediums often have a spirit guide - some spirit they have an
affinity with that can act to assist in finding other spirits. This is a great help to have such a spirit you can depend on to assist you and trys to communicate. Some claim the experiences of mediums and shamans are self delusion , self hypnosis , or pure fakery.
Undoubtedly the bulk of such people can be counted as such but there remains a core
that cannot be so easily explained away. Do the dead return? Just because something answers does not mean its a spirit but treat the contact as real and in your mind it will be
real. The best evidence of real spirit contact is knowledge no one could have known.
But have a care if any ever want you to give your life saving, sign over your insurance
or charge outrageous fees - you are dealing with a scoundrel. You would be surprised
the amount of information available about you if you know the right sources. I dare say
its unlikely any of you will meet a real medium. Most seance mediums are entertainers
- some masquerade as a holy wonder worker regardless even among these sometimes
things occur that give them pause to wonder. Attendance at a table style seance runs from 6 to 12 people. While a cabinet style seance can have up to 30 or more attendees.
Do the dead survive? I would like to pass on a short tale that happened to me in 1975 -
my father had purchased a home several years earlier from a widow, mother of one of
my former classmates. One night while meditating a gray misty shape appeared before
me looking most somber and as I stared it dissolved away better than any special effect
Hollywood might imagine. Soon my brother was taken by nightmares and dreamed of
being attacked and choked. Then the whistling started several days later - the same notes
over and over and while not extremely loud they grated on my nerves. As I lay in bed
getting angry at the whistling I yelled be quiet and it became quiet. I had assumed my
brother next door was the source of the noise. Several days later I was showering
and outside the bathroom door came the human sounding whistle. The same four notes
repeating over and over varying in volume and still thinking the source of the prank
was my brother I yelled,”shutup.” I left the shower hearing the whistle all the way to
the bathroom door and yanking the door open to sudden silence - nothing was there!
If not for the strangeness the situation would have been humourous. The whistling
right outside the door would start back up as I returned to the shower and back I
would head to the door - yank it open and find nothing. This happened some 5 or 6
times. As I said there was something about the whistling that aroused anger in me. A possible empathy with the spirit? I had enough. I figured my brother was playing a prank and marched dripping wet to his room down the hall. It was locked so I knocked loudly. Finally he opened the door and I proceeded to let him know my displeasure. This time the door was open and the whistling started. I said , “ Do you hear that?” and my brother said, “Do You?” Without further discussion we went into the reckroom checking pipes and vents and the fireplace and all the while the sound would change directions coming from the left then the right.
As we began to give up we stood close together and then from over
our heads from midair just above us came a tremendous blast of the same four
whistling notes. We jumped our hearts pounding. The sound now got more distant
till it faded and stopped. The whistling would return now and then over the next
several months but faded and distant - nothing like that one day. It seemed that
now that we were no longer afraid but curious the spirit lost strength and
eventually left. The former owner had died of a heart attack in the house. He was
known to like to tinker and install cabinets, locks and other kinds of minor
remodeling. The house had been built for him by a local builder. It was probably his
dream home. Did he become aroused or wakened to the fact that his family was gone and
strangers in the house? Perhaps. I know that grey misty shape I saw was a man in his
late 60’s wearing overalls. He fit the description of the former owner. This description was found out by me only after these events took place. He often worked downstairs where these events took place. Was it a ghost or a psychic projection? My brother will of course deny the story except when speaking with me alone - he asserts he does not want people to think him crazy. This is only one of my many experiences with spirits.
