CHAD BRANNON Character: Zander Smith Ever since Chad Brannon was little, he wanted to be just like his fireman father. At 2, he’d put on his dad’s big yellow helmet, which slid down over his eyes. Today, he still looks up to his dad, and all firemen. “When people ask what my dad does, I say, ‘[He] saves people’s lives,’” he states proudly. “It’s one of those jobs that the world can’t do without.” When Brannon was 12 or 13, his father let him stay overnight at the fire station. “We’d wake up at four in the morning, and they’d have a run,” Brannon continues. “All the lights would come on, and you’d hear this huge alarm. As a little kid, it really scared me. But it was really cool to be down there, amongst all of that. They are real-life heroes.” So, the actor would like to give a special tribute to his father, Senior Captain Glenn Brannon of the Houston Police Department in Texas, for his nearly 20 years of service courageously helping others. -from Soaps In Depth |
