Dana was woken the next morning by the loud ringing of the telephone. Dana rolled over and prayed Faith would answer it. She did and after a moment Dana's door was opened and her room was filled with light. "Dana? Phone" Dana moaned and stumbled out of bed. "Hello" she said trying to sound as if she had been awake for hours. "Oh shoot, I forgot, I'm sorry" Dana had completely forgotten her singing lesson yesterday, her mind being on other things! Her teacher was not pleased and demanded she put in an extra hour in the recording studio this morning. Dana usually did work at the studio for her teacher who was the owner. It was the only way she could pay for her singing lessons and rent. Dana agreed and said she would be at the studio in half an hour. As she put down the phone she reached for her already poured out glass of orange juice, and made herself some breakfast before showering and getting dressed. Half an hour later Dana was running late. "Where's my bag?" Dana shouted as she ran around the couch searching for her black leather shoulder bag. "Got it" She said as she ran for the door. She turned back to Faith who was standing behind her dangling Dana's car keys from her finger "Car keys" Dana sighed before taking them and running out the door to her jeep. As Dana arrived at the recording studio, she notice a coach outside. It looked familiar but she couldn't remember where she had seen it. As she entered the studio through the back entrance, she started to run noticing she was ten minutes later that she said she'd be. Dana ran to the studio door and walked in quietly notice the sign on the door. Her teacher, Maggie, acknowledged and beckoned her. She pointed to the window, and to Dana's surprise Nick and the others were standing around a microphone singing. Dana gave a small giggle, and looked at Nick. He didn't see her, he was so into the song he didn't even open his eyes. "What do you think?" asked Maggie. "They're good." Dana replied, trying hard not to laugh. Nick opened his eyes and looked through the window. He saw Dana and smiled. She gave a wave and maggie turned to her. "Have you two met?" "Yeah, yesterday." "Oh" Maggie said knowingly. When the guys had finished, Dana left the room to see Nick. He noticed her leave and also left to meet her in the corridor, whilst the others stayed in the studio practising. "Hey" Nick said his voice happy to see her. " How'd you know we were here?" "I followed my nose" she said sarcastically pointing to hers. "I work here and record some of my songs" Nick replied by taking her hand. Dana wasn't sure about his movement but she accepted and they walked down the corridor, Nick leading the way. His pace quickened and Dana was excitedly suspicious. "Where are we going?" "To get something. You'll see." Dana followed Nick, and they soon arrived at a small locked door. Nick unlocked it and they entered. In the room was a small plastic bag and a black baseball cap, like the one he wore to MacDonalds. Nick picked up both objects, and placed the cap on his head. Out of the bag he took a small box and gave it to Dana. "I can't take this" "Just open it." Dana opened the box and looked inside. She saw a pair of gold music note earrings. "Awww how cute." She said holding one earring up to her ear. "I thought you'd like them. I saw them and I immediately thought of you." Nick said laughing slightly and feeling proud that he had made her happy. Dana wrapped her arms around Nick's neck and hugged him. He hugged her back. As Dana pulled away she gave him a kiss on the cheek. They stood in the doorway, their arms around each other and their eyes locked. Nick leant forward and kissed her, and although unsure, Dana kissed him back. ****************** In the recording studio, Maggie and the others were wondering where Nick and Dana had gone. Maggie needed Dana to help on the sound board, and Nick was needed to sing. "I'll give you three guesses where Nick's gone" Brian said slyly to the others. Just then Maggie came in to the recording studio. "Guys, do you want to try the next song?" "Yeah sure but we don't have Nick" said Kevin. "I'll go find him" said Brian as he made his way to the door. Brian walked around the corridors trying to look for Nick and probably Dana. He decided to try the room where they had left their bags, and started through the hallways. ******************** Dana and Nick were still holding onto the kiss. Nick's arms were wrapped tightly around Dana's waist, and Dana ran her fingers through Nick's blonde hair, having dropped the box containing the earings, and down his neck. As Nick pulled away, he saw his best mate standing near them. "Brian!" Nick exclaimed and Dana jumped away from him and turned. Seeing the box on the floor she scrambled to pick it up. Nick looked startled at Brian, whilst Dana turned scarlet red. "No, don't mind me. I'm sure we can carry on recording songs, minus one harmony." Brian gave Nick a look that said 'There's a time and a place.' "We'd better get back, before the others chuck me out of the group." Nick said smiling at Dana. Dana smiled back and looked lovingly at the box which she held in her hand. Nick placed his arm round her waist as if to guide her forward and the three of them walked back to the studio.
