Just a quick entry. I'm very tired physically (I hardly got any sleep last night, and we had a whole bunch of relatives over today because the guy who says he's my dad turned 50 today (=Sunday). But my mind is hyperactive, so I'll just let some thoughts out. Not interesting thoughts though.
I just wanted to say how much I have learnt since I started working on this homepage. I have learnt so many things especially through meating people. A few examples:
1) When I was young, my mom sometimes told me about a country "far far away", where some relatives of hers live. She said that, when it's day here, in that other country it's night. I thought she was losing it. Then some other time, she seemed to push the joke even further: she said that if it's summer here, in that other country it's winter. Me, taking it with a truckload of salt: "really? does that country have a name?" Then she said "yes, it's called Australië." I thought, okay, have it your way. Well it made some sence: België, Brazilië, Argentinië, Italië, Australië. It sounded like the name of a country indeed. I thought it was really clever of my mom that she could think of a name that would fit so perfectly for a country. Then, lots of years later, I was watching soccer and suddenly NAC had a new sensational striker called Graham Arnold. The commentator on tv said he was from a country called "Australië." At that point I thought either I was going schyzophrenic, or it was a world wide conspiracy to make me believe in the existence of that country. Then there was this other club, Go Ahead Eagles, who had a player called Jason with a last name that sounded really Dutch, and one day he couldn't play for GAE because he had to play for his country: Australië. There it was again. No! It can't! Winter there when it's summer here, yeah right! Anyway, through this page I have met some people who say they are from a country called "Australia." I think this is that legendary country my mom was talking about. There actually seems to be ANOTHER country south of it, named after a part of the Netherlands but then with "New" in front of it. Now, it makes me wonder... how about all those other impossible things my mom talked about? Who knows, maybe one day I will get an e-mail from someone who says (s)he's from a place called "heaven."
2) Another thing I learnt because of meeting people through my page: "Jan" is a GIRL's name in English! It gets weirder and weirder every day. Even my mom couldn't have predicted this.
3) And now for my latest discovery: well, you'll have to check my guestbook for that. Look for the name "Jude." See, I never knew girls could do that: stick a body part of theirs into someone's ear, and then get cum out of it (sorry if I use the wrong expressions; I hope you know what I mean... I'm not that good in English :-) ). Okay, it could also be that "Jude" suddenly turns out to be (also) a guy's name. Anyway, what amazes me even more, is that there are people who are so good at getting attention. See, I could NEVER think of that!
